Disappointed March 31, 2010 A. McIlhatton (UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I never did get this download and gave up trying to get it sent repeatedly from Amazon. Getting a refund is a slow tedious process. Won't be buying downloads in future from Amazon.
Melancholy yet uplifting. March 16, 2010 M. P. OKeefe (London, England.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is Owl City's first number-one single, reaching this position in seven countries and holding the posiition in the UK for three weeks. It's quite a melodic almost melancholy yet strangely uplifting song described by guest vocalist Matt Thiessen as "a little song about bugs and not being able to fall asleep at night. There's something that makes this song very relaxing and soothing and is definately a one that fit into either chillout or upbeat playlists.
Alicia Keys - Element of Freedom March 12, 2010 T. Hedderick (UK) Hey
This album is absolutely brilliant. All of the songs on it are different and have a different story behing each of them...
Especially love Empire State of Mind (Part II), Sleeping with a Broken Heart and That's How Strong My Love Is!
Would recommend it to anyone...
Five out of Five!
Nice Song, Simple Lyrics February 26, 2010 Ursula K. Raphael (USA) I bought this song specifically for my 4yr old son. He's heard it on the car radio, and the lyrics were easy for him to memorize. I'm just happy that he can listen to a song that's not about sex, drinking or shooting people -- and the bonus is that it's not Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers, etc.
The video is also pretty cute with the toys coming to life. I know nothing else about Owl City, or Postal Service, but I do think this is a great song.
A poppier version of Postal Service, but very good netherless! January 24, 2010 Paul Fletcher (Bristol) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got the import version of the album from marketplace Ocean Eyes as it came out in the states last year, annoying that it takes so long to get it sorted with a uk distributor, anyway was about the same price with postage from states.
From start to finish its the nice blippy bloppy synth sounds that if you like Postal ServiceGive Up or Imogen Heap Ellipse or Speak for Yourself then you will probably like this. It's very good, my only concern is that it is maybe a bit too pop for me, but I can be a bit of a music snob so 99% of people please ignore me and if you think you are that other 1% have a listen anyway as it got me hooked quickly, but has been overplayed on the radio already. My highlight is this single Fireflies, which is why I have posted this on this page too, I heard this song first, but it is all very nice on the album too Ocean Eyes. Nice lyrics too. Suggest checking out a famous vid streaming site for the singles to listen to that other famous audio streaming site. :D Very good album too indeed!! I couldn't wait for the UK release before and I like my music legal and so should you! 22nd Feb grab the album, well worth it. But try my other suggestions too! :)
