'Stay Too Long' tells the story of a loutish night on what is presumably a British town. Artist Plan B creates a convincing drunken persona who gets himself involved in an increasingly messy night out involving a bar fight and plenty of binge drinking which culminates in our hero cheating on his girlfriend at the end of the night. Although the soft bridges and easy vocals may suggest that our violent bar crawler is aware of the consequences of his actions and almost feels victimised by social pressures imposed on himself, the song ultimately glorifies the kind of liquid courage culture that the track highlights by letting allowing the character to pull a James Bond by escaping the authorities and getting the (second) girl in the end. A real cop-out.
