 Really Good September 9, 2010
Music Lover
Really enjoying this album, for those of us of a certain age who have heard it all before, this is refreshingly different. Madeleine Peyroux's distinctive voice dominates every track but I'm really enjoying the playing of her backing band also. A fine album indeed.

I had never heard of this singer until I came across her by accident very recently. My God, what an oversight!
This girl combines the best of Billie Holliday's jazzy style with Peggy Lee's beautiful wistfulness, yet manages to make something fresh and original. Just wonderful.
I'm off to buy the rest of her albums.

Love this - great to listen to on its own - even better with a glass of wine. Her voice melts out of the sound system, seeps across the floor and climbs into your lap. Great at any time of the year but would make a particularly good Christmas present.

I was so happy when I heard about Madeleine Peyroux on Jools holland. She's brilliant and this album is beautiful. Her syrupy voice has no trouble in these songs, the lyrics laid out in front of you with such simplicity and ease - her voice is amazing, not to mention the covers of distinguished jazz artists. Even Bob Dylan's 'You're gonna make me lonesome when you go' doesn't feel out of place.
This album is great.

Received this absolutely fantastic c.d. from Argentina via Amazon, of Madeleine Peyroux Received it in a padded envelope within 2 weeks of purchase online. I have just "found" Madeleine Peyroux on a t.v. programme and fell in love with her voice and sound and songs she has composed and other favourites. Have been playing it while doing housework, having dinner and reading - Dance me to the end of Love is especially atmospheric. Enjoy.
